Frequently Asked Questions

Pricing, procedures, and what to expect.

What is included in the €90 Prefabricated price?
The €90 fee is an "all-in" price. Unlike buying off the shelf in a shop, this price includes the full biomechanical assessment by a qualified therapist, the high-quality orthotic device itself, and the professional fitting service. There are no extra charges for the consultation.
What is included in the €400 Custom price?
The €400 fee is completely transparent with no hidden charges. It covers the entire clinical process: the initial biomechanical assessment, gait analysis, 3D scanning or casting of your feet, manufacturing of the bespoke device, the fitting appointment, and any necessary follow-ups.
Can orthotics help with sports injuries (e.g., Achilles Tendonitis)?
Yes. We frequently treat athletes suffering from overuse injuries like Achilles tendonitis (often aggravated by surfaces like astro turf). By correcting your biomechanics and realigning the foot, orthotics offload pressure from the tendon, alleviating symptoms and aiding recovery where other treatments may fail.
What is the difference between Prefab and Custom?
Prefabricated: Pre-made, lower cost (€90), immediate fitting, lasts ~1 year. Good for general support.

Custom: Bespoke manufactured (€400), requires casting/scanning, lasts longer, precise biomechanical correction. The gold standard for complex issues.
What is a Custom Orthotic?
A custom orthotic is individually fabricated over a 3D model of your foot. They act like "glasses for your feet"—reducing stress and bringing your body back into proper alignment. They are designed to restore the balance of pressure on joints, muscles, and tendons.
What should my new custom orthotics feel like?
You may notice new sensations, such as feeling "high" in your shoes, rolling to the outside, or pressure under the arch. This is normal and a sign the orthotic is working. Langer recommends a break-in period: Wear for 1 hour on the first day, increasing by 1 hour each day.
What kind of shoe do I need?
Most custom orthotics fit comfortably into standard shoes. Occasionally, a slightly larger shoe might be required. The orthotic does not reduce muscle tone; it repositions your foot so muscles work more efficiently.
